Alvin Ailey Dancer Paige Fraser Interview and Dance
Talking about ballet. This is our first of many interviews and discussions to come on the lives of the Artist. We have started the discussion and want to continue it on video throughout this coming year. Collaboration is such a huge asset to TALKFAME and so of course we had to team up with one of Brooklyn’s finest Kwesi Abbensetts on a video project on the young and gifted Alvin Ailey dancer Paige Fraser who happens to be a good friend of ours.
We filmed this earlier last year and had some technical difficulties which stalled the intial date. We are happy to finally present this to you today. In this interview we were not only able to capture some of this gals moves but we also sat down and talked with Paige about her life as a burgeoning professional dancer at Alvin Ailey’s junior company Ailey II. She spoke with us about her struggle with scoliosis, how race influences her career, and her inspiration to keep working and living her dreams. This hit home for me because I too have Scoliosis and at one point was discouraged by my doctors to continue on with certain sports and dance. I hope you all get a pick me up this week from this interview. It may be a little long but totally worth the commitment to watch. Stay Focused!
